Why Reading to Infants Matter

Reading to babies from birth builds more than early literacy — it nurtures connection, curiosity, and brain development during the most rapid learning period of a child’s life.

The rhythm of language, the warmth of shared attention, and the joy of stories help infants develop listening skills, vocabulary, and emotional security.

Pediatricians and early-childhood experts consistently recommend daily reading as one of the most powerful, simple ways to support healthy brain development and parent-child bonding.

Books introduce new ideas, sounds, and images that spark imagination and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. By putting books into parents’ hands early, we empower families to create meaningful moments that support healthy development, bonding, and a love of reading that can last a lifetime.
